1. Information We Collect
We collect: your name, email address, and phone number when you register; marketplace listing content including photos and descriptions; business directory listing content including business name, category, description, contact phone, WhatsApp, email, website, address, and logo; hotel search and booking activity (cities searched, hotels viewed); flight routes you searched; activity pages you viewed and bookings initiated; device information such as browser type and operating system; IP address and usage data for security and analytics purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the GhListing platform (marketplace, business directory, hotel search, flight comparison, and activities), to verify accounts through Ghana Card KYC, to process boost payments via Mobile Money, to send transactional notifications (listing approvals, booking confirmations, messages), and to detect and prevent fraud.
3. Ghana Card Verification
KYC verification data is processed securely via our verification partner (Smile Identity). We do not store raw ID document images after verification is complete. Only the verification status (verified/unverified) is retained on our servers.
4. Hotel & Activity Booking Partners
When you click through to book a hotel or activity, you are redirected to third-party booking platforms (such as Trip.com, Booking.com, GetYourGuide, and others). These partners have their own privacy policies that govern the data you provide during booking. GhListing.com only collects aggregate referral analytics (e.g. how many times a hotel was clicked) — we do not receive your payment or booking details from these partners.
5. Business Directory Data
Business listing information — including the business name, category, description, phone number, WhatsApp contact, email address, website URL, physical address, logo, and photos — is publicly visible to all users of the platform. If you list a business, this information will be indexed by search engines and displayed publicly. You may edit or update your business listing at any time through your account dashboard. To remove a business listing, contact support@ghlisting.com and we will process your request within 7 business days.
6. Flight Search Data
Flight price data is retrieved from third-party flight data providers. We do not store your individual flight search queries beyond your current session. If you click through to book a flight, you are redirected to the airline or OTA, and their privacy policy applies.
7. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with: payment processors (MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash) for boost transactions; identity verification providers for KYC; hotel and activity booking partners for referral tracking; and law enforcement agencies when required by Ghanaian law.
8. Your Listing Data
Your marketplace listing information — including your display name, phone number, and WhatsApp contact — is publicly visible to all users of the platform. Please be mindful of the personal information you include in your listings.
9. Affiliate Program Data
If you join the GhListing affiliate program, we collect and store your full name, phone number (for Mobile Money payouts), and email address. Your affiliate referral code, earnings balance, total referrals, converted referrals, and payout history are stored on our servers and are visible only to you and authorized administrators. We do not share your affiliate earnings or payout details with third parties. Your referral code is shared publicly when you distribute your referral link, but your personal contact details remain private.
10. Referral Tracking
When someone clicks your affiliate referral link, a referral code is stored in their browser using localStorage (a standard browser storage mechanism) so that the referral can be attributed to you if they sign up. This code persists across page visits until registration. On sign-up, we record the referral by matching the referred user's email address. Affiliates can only see aggregate counts (total and converted referrals) — not the names, emails, or phone numbers of individual referred users. Referred users' personal data is never shared with affiliates.
11. Payout & Phone Number Verification Data
To process affiliate payouts via Mobile Money, we store your registered MoMo phone number, payout request details, MoMo transaction references, and payout status (requested, sent, confirmed). When you request a phone number change, we temporarily store one-time passwords (OTPs) sent to your current and new numbers to verify ownership. These OTPs are used only for verification and are not retained after the change is complete. All payout and phone change actions are recorded in audit logs with the actor (affiliate or admin), timestamp, and action details.
12. Audit Logs
GhListing.com maintains audit logs of administrative and affiliate actions for security, accountability, and dispute resolution. These logs record actions such as payout requests, payouts sent and confirmed, phone change requests and approvals, user and listing deletions, and role changes. Audit logs are accessible only to authorized administrators and are retained in accordance with our data retention practices.
13. Account Deletion & Admin Moderation
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting support@ghlisting.com. Authorized administrators may also delete user accounts and listings directly through the admin panel for policy enforcement. When a user account is deleted, their access to the platform is removed; previously published marketplace listings may remain on the platform unless individually removed. Affiliate records and their associated payout history may be retained for accounting and audit purposes.
14. Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and platform preferences. We also use analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand how users interact with the platform and improve our service. The affiliate referral code is stored using localStorage (not a cookie) and is cleared upon successful registration. You may disable cookies in your browser settings.
15. Data Security
We implement industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. Affiliate payouts require admin approval, and phone number changes require dual OTP verification to prevent unauthorized modifications. However, no internet system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and to report any suspicious activity to support@ghlisting.com.
16. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data by emailing support@ghlisting.com. We will process your request within 30 days. Note that public listing data may remain visible briefly after deletion during cache clearing. Affiliates may request a payout of their earned balance at any time once the minimum threshold (GHS 10) is met.
17. Children
GhListing.com is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, their account will be suspended immediately.
